Supermodel, body confidence activist, lingerie and swimsuit designer, public speaker and role model are just a few of the things you'll find on Ashley Graham's CV. The 29-year-old, who shot to fame after making history as the first curvy model on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2016, has been trailblazing her way to the top of the fashion and beauty industry.

When she isn't giving talks at UN Empowering Women Summits, writing an inspiring memoir (A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like) or attending body positivity dinner parties at the White House, Ashley is busy building her brand, with her 6.3 million Instagram followers cheering her on. Here, in our new series, The Beauty Memo, she lets GLAMOUR in on her best kept beauty secrets, skincare routine and the three things that make her feel the most confident.

“My four step makeup mantra.”

I like to wear my makeup based on the occasion. I love a full face for events and photoshoots. My everyday look is more simple: moisturiser, eyebrow gel, some contour, and mascara. I also love accessible products like Revlon's Kiss Exfoliating Balm because it gets rid of dryness and then hydrates with essential fruit oils for an entire day. Also the Mega Multiplier mascara - you won't even need fake lashes.

“My secret hacks for smooth skin and bright eyes.”

I use rose water because it refreshes the skin and instantly makes it feel smooth. It can also be applied easily multiple times throughout the day. For bright eyes, I love using Revlon's PhotoReady Highlight Stick in the corner of my eyes because it makes them pop.

“Why I swear by mixing peppermint oil in my water.”

I love mixing peppermint oil in my water to help with bloating. My favourite brand is by Young Living Essential Oils. I also take Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides for my hair, skin, nails, bones and joints.

“The three things that make me feel the most confident.”

Right now I feel confident most of the time, but that wasn't always the case. It was a journey to get to a point where I was truly comfortable in my own skin. I feel most confident when I'm doing something great for myself like finishing a great business meeting or practising affirmations and self-care, or when I'm surrounded by my girlfriends who are positive and uplifting.

“The one beauty product I wish I could make at home...”

I love hair masks. I wish I was a DIY girl so I could make my own, but I'm not. I like Pantene's 3 Minute Miracle Repair mask - I use it once or twice a week.

“The wellness exercise I'm currently into...”

I work out at a gym in New York called Dog Pound and try to get there three days per week. I actually just started trying Pilates and I love it!

“How Tyra Banks made me elevate my makeup looks...”

Sitting next to Tyra Banks at the judges' table every day for America's Next Top Model really made me elevate my makeup looks each week.
