Offset responds after awkwardly crashing Cardi B's set to try and win her back

Things got very awkward.

Cardi B has had a killer year. With her hilarious mannerisms and phrases taking her to viral fame, her hugely successful debut album and epic star-studded music videos - as well as welcoming baby daughter Kulture into the world - it's fair to say the past 12 months will go down in her history books as some of the best.

As if there wasn't enough Cardi to keep up with already, it seems like every day there's a new update on her complicated relationship. Case in point: the rapper's set at the Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles, when her soon-to-be ex-husband Offset crashed the stage and begged her to take him back.

As the first woman to headline the festival, all eyes were on Cardi for her history-making performance. All that went awry though when the estranged Atlanta rapper made a dramatic entrance on stage with a floral bouquet and massive cake that read 'TAKE ME BACK CARDI'.

"I just want to tell you I'm sorry, bruh," Offset told her. "In person. In front of the world."

Judging from her stunned reaction, Cardi was not amused. Despite rejecting his grand gestures, she later took to Instagram to thank her fans for their support after the set, and ask them to treat Offset kindly.

'I'm not saying that I'm going to get back together with him. I just don't like that bashing online thing.

'Just earlier, you saw just how Pete Davidson was talking about how he don't even want to be on this earth because mad people be coming to him every single day.

'I wouldn't want my baby father to have that feeling because of millions of people be bashing him every day. That's a nasty feeling. I wouldn't want that.

On Sunday, Offset took to to defend his actions, insisting that Cardi B deserved a 'public apology's the wake of the cheating scandal.

The Migos rapper, 27, tweeted: 'All of my wrongs have been made public, i figure It's only right that my apologies are made public too. '

Earlier in the month, Cardi B announced that she and Offset had split up after 15 months of marriage.

In true Cardi style, she took to Instagram to share the news. Speaking in a video, she explained: "So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know, I've been trying to work things out with my baby-father for a hot minute now.

"And we're really good friends and you know we're really good business partners, and you know he's always someone that I run to to talk to and we got a lot of love for each other.

"But things just haven't been working out between us for a long for a long time,' she continued, constantly fidgeting with her long red wig. 'It's nobody's fault... I guess we just grew out of love.

"But we're not together any more. I don't know, it might take time to get a divorce.'

"I'm going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter's father, and... yeah."

Offset himself responded with a comment on the video: "Y'all won".

We're sad to see this pair split up but we're glad it's on amicable terms.

The pair tied the knot in a private ceremony in their Atlanta bedroom in September 2017 and welcomed their baby, Kulture Kiari Cephus, in July.

Rumours began circulating after Offset called Cardi his 'wife' during an acceptance speech at the BET Awards.

TMZ then obtained a marriage certificate which stated that the couple already tied the knot in September 2017. It stated that Kiari Kendrell Cephus and Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar (their real names) "were united in marriage" on September 20, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.

After the story broke, Cardi took to social media to confirm the reports, name-checking her album Invasion of Privacy. Truly fitting.

She wrote,

"There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn't want to lose each other, was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married.

"We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin. I said I do, with no dress no make up and no ring! I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me have that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!! Well now since you lil nosey f*cks know at least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock."

This why i name my album “Invasion of privacy” cause people will do the most to be nosey about your life .Welp fuck it .

Offset very publicly proposed to Cardi in the middle of Power 99's Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia in October 2017, over a month after the marriage date on the certificate.
