Cate Blanchett's spokeswoman has confirmed that the actress and her husband Andrew Upton have adopted a baby girl named Edith.
Edith Vivian Patricia Upton will join the Blanchett-Upton family and their three sons, Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, seven. Publicist Stephanie Gonzalez added that no other details would be released.
The actress, who is currently promoting her new film Cinderella, was spotted with her new addition on an LAX-Sydney flight. The star was alone and only had a "Qantas helper" to aid her with the newborn.
"The baby didn't cry at all," an eye-witness said. "I think the baby would be less than six weeks," she said. "I've had three - so my guess is about right."
Speaking about the new addition, Andrew Upton told reporters: "We're thrilled."
