Friends is one of those shows most people have watched so many times they can recite every line. They know every character inside out and will always know the answer to questions on a pub quiz. So, of course, they'll have heard the iconic theme tune multiple times and could sing it word for word in their sleep, right? Well, maybe not, if the latest revelation is anything to go by.
Some fans have taken to Twitter to express their utter shock, after discovering they've been singing the theme tune wrong all these years.
It was revealed in this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Takeaway
, when actual theme-tune-singing-band, The Rembrandts, performed the song in Florida for the big finale.
Fans of the show will know that during the Singalong Live segment, a fan is challenged to nail the words to a song, which this week was the famous 'I'll Be There For You'. However, one woman missed out on the prize after singing "When the rain starts to fall". That's right, right? A travesty! Give her the money! Wait, what? The words are actually "When the rain starts to pour"???????
Well, we are shook. And so was Twitter:[ id="982694942488358912"]
It just doesn't sound right, does it?! We've even consulted the world wide web, and it seems legit.
We just found out how much the Friends cast earn from re-runs and our minds are blown
"I'll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you
(Like I've been there before)"
We're still going to sing our version tbh. It's served us well until now!
