, £15, Glossier
Like anything by Glossier, their latest release caused major frenzy online. With its pretty baby pink packaging, the brand's only liquid eyeshadow promises a sheer veil of colour that lasts all day long.

CAROLINA'S BEAUTY BIO:
Olive skin with neutral undernotes. I wear little makeup on a daily basis but I'm fond of a glowing bronzed base and strong brows on date night. My complexion is usually oily, but currently facing some dryness around the eyes, nose and lips due to the cold weather.
JEN'S BEAUTY BIO:
Fair skin, heavy-lidded and an every-day eyeshadow user. With so much lid on show (I was once likened to a toad by a male friend – shock, this memory has stayed with me), I rarely leave the house without a trusty 5-shade application.
WHAT CAROLINA USUALLY LOOKS FOR IN AN EYESHADOW:
Since I save my eyeshadows for nights that I'm out out, I tend to go for pigmented creamy formulas - a little shimmer in it is definitely a plus.
WHAT JEN USUALLY LOOKS FOR IN AN EYESHADOW:
I prefer neutral, gold and bronze shades that will stand the test of time and carry me through from morning to evening (nobody wants to carry a palette with them all day and into date night).
CAROLINA'S LIDSTAR REVIEW:
If I'm going to be completely honest, I was worried about giving a biased opinion about Lidstar - I'm a complete sucker for anything Glossier (and don't get me started on the pretty pink packaging). But I tried to ignore the label and not judge the book by its cover.
At first glance this liquid eyeshadow looks intense, there's so much glitter it seems like the ultimate Kira Kira buy - but don't let looks deceive you. Once you swatch it you'll see that the formula is very lightweight and the shimmer is very understated.
Pigment is definitely not this eyeshadow's forte, but if we know anything about Emily Weiss's love for natural looks, it's probably not meant to be.
The eyeshadow comes with its own gloss-like applicator and it's fairly easy to apply, little pats with your ring finger will help to get it right. It doesn't dry immediately so wait a minute before applying your mascara - but hey, it does what it promises and definitely doesn't crease.
I wore it for about eight hours and it didn't really budge, but the colour and glitter naturally toned down throughout the day - I can't help but touch my face okay?!
JEN'S LIDSTAR REVIEW:
I’m a complete sucker for a cute Glossier product, and even though Lidstar looks a little like something I could pick up in the aisles of Hobbycraft, I have to admit I’m seriously into the packaging.
Usually, I use a trusty combo of a minimum four of my favourite Urban Decay colours to give my lids some shade and definition – so swapping to two colours (I chose Fawn and Moon) was certainly a challenge.
First thoughts on the application? This is super easy, it glides on like a dream and the consistency isn’t as gooey as expected. Pearlescent Moon goes in the inner corner, obvs, but doesn’t give me as strong a colour as I’d like on first application. I’ve heard the trick here is to layer away, so I hastily add another coat and blend out with my finger.
Fawn is my kinda colour – a subtle grey-brown that works really well on my fair, pink-toned skin and goes on much stronger than its silvery sister shade. Blending together works easier than anticipated and doesn’t leave my fingers a complete sticky mess, though I can see Glossier releasing a Lidstar blender very soon.
CAROLINA'S FINAL VERDICT:
I have a new found love for delicate eyeshadows and wore this one for days in a row. It's easy to apply (commute tested and approved) and stays on for hours. Perfect as an office uniform or a romantic date night look with feathery eyelashes. Thumbs up.
JEN'S FINAL VERDICT:
The shimmery look is buildable, blendable and a great quick alternative to my normal routine. Miraculously for a liquid shadow, I didn’t experience creasing throughout the day. Unlike their Haloscope highlighter, this doesn’t stay tacky and dries quickly. Super handy to shove in your bag for a festival touch-up, Lidstar is an on-the-go game changer for when you can’t cart around a full palette.
