It wasn't awkward, apparently...

Gwyneth Paltrow is rumoured to be engaged to Glee producer Brad Falchuk after three years of dating.

Proving there are no bad feelings from her former husband, she shared a picture this weekend of her new 'fiancé' with her ex Chris Martin at brunch. The 45-year-old actress posted the image on Instagram with the caption: ‘Sunday brunch #modernfamily’.

In 2015, Gwyneth revealed she went out for brunch with Chris and their children every weekend, even if they “hated each other”. So presumably they’re continuing the ritual.

She first met Brad, 43, on the set of Glee in 2010. They began dating soon after both of their marriages ended in 2014, going public at Robert Downey Jr.’s 50th birthday party in April 2015.

Chris has been linked to Jennifer Lawrence and is now reportedly in a relationship with Peaky Blinders star, Annabelle Wallis.

Chris and Gwyneth famously announced their ‘conscious uncoupling’ back in 2014. In a statement released through the actress's Goop blog, they said at the time: "We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been."

They officially signed divorce papers in July 2016, but the pair have remained close. They’re regularly spotted on holiday with their two children - Moses, 11, and Apple, 13.

Gwyneth previously shared: "As anybody who has been divorced knows, you have to put a lot aside to maintain the family and the practicalities of what that might mean and sometimes that's quite tough on a personal level.

"It's a commitment I make every day to my children and their father even though we're not in a romantic relationship."

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Chris admitted he went through "a year of depression" after the split.

"It's always out there in the media, but I have a very wonderful separation-divorce. I've lived a lot since then. It's a divorce, but it's a weird one. You can come it at very aggressively and blame and blame. Or you can put yourself in the garage, so to speak. Take yourself apart and clean off the bits. Reassemble."

Speaking about how literature helped him through the divorce he said: "That one Rumi poem [The Guest House by the Persian poet Rumi] changes everything. It says that even when you're unhappy, it's good for you. I was like 'What?!' It took me about a year to get it. A year of depression and all that. I still wake up down a lot of days. But now I feel like I've been given the tools to turn it around."

At a conference in 2015, Gwyneth said she sees Chris “like a brother”, but they continue to share similar family values.

"I think, unfortunately, though we couldn't stay in a romantic relationship, our values are very much around the importance of family and the importance of those relationships and I'm lucky that we're aligned in that way... The children are our commitment."
