Take a guess how often we should be replacing our bras? Every three years, two years, one year? No, no, Nope. Every SIX months! Yep, we were surprised too. According to Paula Svoboda, a bra fitting specialist for the bra company , this is how often we should be updating our bras.
Why so often, we hear you shouting at your screens? According to Svoboda, it’s because bras can lose their elasticity super quickly, due to washing and wear and tear.
We totally hear what she’s saying, but we all know it can be a mare finding the perfect bra, which makes ditching them a struggle.
To add to that, it turns out we should also be getting fitted by a professional bra specialist as often as possible, and by often, that’s not every 3 years like most of us do.
A survey conducted by Triumph of 1,000 women found that only eight per cent had been fitted for a bra in the last 12 months.
Svoboda told that she finds the figure alarming due to the potential health risks associated with wearing an ill-fitting bra. She went on to add, "Women can spend $300 on a single occasion dress, but they’re willing to skimp on a piece of clothing they rely on for support every day.”
