Brows are the undisputed beauty power player, and a good set of perfectly groomed brows will frame your eyes and define your look (here’s looking at you, Cara Delevingne). If you want beautiful brows but have no idea where to begin, we've enlisted the best brow gurus in the business to share their ultimate tips for defining, sculpting and grooming your arch assets.
Check Your Shape
An easy way to check your shape is to hold your makeup brush vertically down each side of the nose to define where brows should start. Then, hold the brush from the outer corner of the nose diagonally through the centre of the eye - where it hits the brow indicates the spot where your arch should sit. Tweeze away strays.
Define and Sculpt Your Arches
Defining and sculpting your brows is a two-step process. “Fill in any gaps with fine, hair-like strokes in the direction your brows grow,” says Clint Dowdell, Nude by Nature global brand ambassador. Then, use two shades of darker powder. “Alternating for a natural colour, and finish with a highlighter shade on the brow bone to instantly brighten your eyes," says Clint. Try Natural Definition Brow Palette, £24,
A brow gel is the fastest way to literally slick brows into shape. For definition, opt for a coloured gel (GLAMOUR loves cult brow gel Gimme Brow. £20.50, .)
Super Natural Brows
"For a super-natural, groomed, glossy brow then opt for a soft pencil to add subtle definition," suggests Vanita Parti, founder of Blink Brow Bar. Try Magic Brows, £14, .
Build Skinny Brows
Choose a gel with microfibres to build out hair volume, such as Brow Build, £19, . ‘Microfibres coat tiny baby brow hairs and literally help you ‘grow’ your brows. Powder applied subtly to fill in patches and enhance the brow, is also a fast-track route to bigger, bolder brows that still look natural,” says Vanita.
Get The Glow
Blend a low-sheen highlighter under the arches of your brow to further define your brow line and create a 'just threaded' finish, where the skin appears lighter in tone.
Groom Your Brows
Like the hair on your head, brows benefit from conditioning love. Nourishing Brow Oil, £16, is packed with Organic Rosemary oil, which aids hair growth and gives a glossy shiny finish.
"If you want bolder, more shapely brows then try a richer, more pigmented product. Apply your product of choice slowly and build up in thinner layers to ensure you end up with your dream brows," says Vanita.
