Huda's new £40, hit our desks this week, leaving our excitement at an all-time high.
The shimmering bronze palette follows the release of and in 2017. Huda said: "Since then, we have had requests for another edition with deeper shades that would give the most insane highlight on tanned and richer skin tones, so I knew I had to create this highlighter.”
Our Entertainment Editor, Sagal, needed no more convincing and instantly took the palette for a whirl. Here's her review:
"I usually like my highlighter to be subtle, but that all changed when I tried the new Bronze Sands 3D Highlight palette. As soon as I saw all the gorgeous colours I couldn’t wait to see what they’d look like on my skin.
The palette is made up of four different shades all named after exotic islands: Barbados - a creamy dark gold colour, Maldives - a lighter shade of gold, Aruba – a shimmery brown shade, and Bora Bora – a rose gold.
As the instructions suggest, I used the Aruba shade to contour before applying the Maldives shade to the top of my cheekbones for the glow. I then applied the Bora Bora shade on the apples of my cheeks which finished off the look with a rose gold shimmer.
I decided not to use the Barbados shade as a base like the instructions recommended as I felt it would be too much so I used it under my eyebrows for extra highlight instead.
I was instantly impressed by how little I had to apply for the colours to really show – I often have to apply quite a lot of highlighter for it to show up on my skin as well as this one did. I was obsessed with how well the Aruba shade sculpted my face and the golden glow of the Maldives shade – and I wasn’t the only one. I’ve never had so many people stop me on the street to ask which highlighter I’m wearing."
Not one to let a testing opportunity go by, Beauty Content Writer, Samantha, also gave the palette a swatch to see what it would look like on her skin tone...
"I was curious to see what this palette would do on my fair skin and as soon as I finished swatching, I just wanted to create a bronze-gold smoky eye asap.
For a highlighter I prefer something pearlescent or pink, so I don't think I would choose to apply the golden shades on my cheekbones - but for my blue eyes? Ah hell yes. All four colours were so amazingly pigmented and shimmery, I would want to use this palette in anyway I can.
I think I could use Aruba to contour, as long as I was light-handed and maybe even the Bora Bora as a blusher when I fake tan or go on holiday."
The Bronze Sands 3D Highlighter Palette launches online 16th February 2018.
