She and her boyfriend Josh were voted the hottest couple in the Love Island villa, but Kaz Crossley isn't just genetically #blessed. The 23-year-old Londoner is a fulltime freelance makeup artist, and just like fellow contestant Alexandra, she knows her way around a beauty blender.
In fact, if you used to be a frequent visitor of the makeup counters around Oxford Street, you may have met Kaz before...
YouTubers were her biggest inspiration
At the age of 15, Kaz was already absorbed in the world of beauty, learning her tips and tricks from makeup tutorials on YouTube.
"I'm 100 per cent self-taught and it's all thanks to YouTube," she says. "I would recommend to any aspiring makeup artists to watch makeup YouTubers."
"I became good at doing my own makeup and then wanted to turn it into a profession, so I eventually got a job working at Urban Decay on the counter in House Of Fraser."
After four years, and a few moves around different brand departments, Kaz became a full-time freelance makeup artist.
Alexandra from Love Island is a legit makeup artist and these are her best tips
"Working on the counter I developed a whole new skill set by doing it on other people", she says. "I learnt to apply makeup on different skin tones and ages and it was a great experience."
Since leaving the villa, Kaz's Instagram following has grown from 22k to almost one million, and she now hopes to use the platform to share her makeup knowledge and help other people.

- Use brushes: Try and avoid using your fingers, as it can waste the product and you’ll get a much better application by using the correct brushes.
- Make sure your skin is moisturised: This will create a much better application with foundation, it also helps when using primer.
And as for that gorgeous golden glow she was nailing all the time in the villa? We think the secret is in her top three products:

The bizarre beauty trick Kaz learnt on Love Island
Surrounded by eight or so girls at any one time, you're bound to pick up a few beauty tricks along the way, and the one that sticks out in Kaz's mine has to do with the humble Sudocrem.
"Everyone used to put Sudocream on their spots, especially Ellie", she says. "If we did it before bed, the spot would always go down before the morning."
A stickler for well-cared for skin, Kaz says working on your base is the most important step with makeup. "Ensure your skin is really moisturised, as this will help your makeup last and not go streaky", she says.
When it comes to her own makeup, Kaz concentrates on her skin first and then adds some bronze glow with a 'heavy cheek contour'.
"Long eyelashes are key for me, plus some subtle eyeshadow with a warm tone. I also always wear lip gloss, you’ll very rarely see me without it on."
Being a natural beauty, it was a shock to viewers and Kaz herself when Josh made that comment about coming to bed without makeup on.
Love Island 2019 applications are open, here are some insider hacks to ensure you get an audition...
"I think Josh regretted saying that as soon as it left his lips", says Kaz. "And certainly didn’t get his intended point across."
"I embrace how I look in the day by not wearing any makeup and also enjoy glamming up at night. [What he said] didn’t change anything and Josh loves it when I’m natural!"
In fact, Kaz says she hardly wore any makeup during the day in the villa and would almost always be the first ready at night (while Meghan was often the last).
Working with Stormzy & hopes for Rihanna
Asked about her favourite moment as a makeup artist, Kaz says she had the most fun when working with Stormzy on his music videos.
"There's a great vibe on set, as well as it being my favourite kind of music."
But if she had to choose one celeb to get her hands on, Rihanna is her number one choice.
"I would LOVE to do her makeup. If she’s reading this I’d happily do her glam for free!"
If you don't take her up on that RiRi, we will!
