Known and loved on Instagram for her deliciously healthy recipes, yoga tutorials and fun-loving personality, Madeleine Shaw is one of our favourite wellness gurus. Oh, and she just so happens to be GLAMOUR's new wellness columnist.

For those of you who aren't acquainted with Madeleine, let us give you the low-down. Madeleine is a nutritional therapist, best-selling cookery writer (she just released her third book, A Year of Beautiful Eating), qualified yoga instructor, ambassador for Origins UK - and a new mum.

Madeleine, who turned her foodie blog into a 700,000-strong Instagram account, is known for her 'Get the Glow' mantra, taking a balanced and holistic approach to health. Here, in her first column, she introduces herself and shares her five favourite wellness mantras. Namaste!

"Hi, I'm Madeleine Shaw, and I'm really happy to be the new wellness columnist for GLAMOUR. I'm a food blogger, a qualified nutritional therapist and I'm lucky enough to be the author of three best-selling cookbooks, which are all based on my Get The Glow philosophy. What does it mean to get the glow? It's all about nourishing yourself naturally: through eating gorgeous, healthy whole foods and practising self-care every day. When I look after myself, I feel more positive about life and the glow shows in my skin. Here are my 5 ultimate wellness hacks to get your glow..."

1. Eat healthy fats with every meal

When I lived on low-fat foods and Diet Coke, my skin was dull, I wasn't happy with my body and I felt constantly hungry. Now, I eat healthy fats with every meal: maybe avocado and tahini toast for breakfast, a coconut curry for lunch and a nice piece of miso marinated salmon with stir-fried greens for dinner. Those healthy fats taste amazing, help you recognise when you're full and nourish glowy skin, too.

2. Meditate your way

It's proven that meditation can slow down skin ageing, but you don't have to "ommmm" for an hour to get the benefits. Meditation can mean chilling out with a face mask or lighting a candle on the sofa. It signals relaxing thoughts to my whole body, and I'm sure that boosts the glow in my skin afterwards.

3. Walk away your worries

Putting one foot in front of another is like hitting the refresh button in your brain. Taking a walk is scientifically proven to nix sugar cravings and boost your mood. I find walking also helps clear my head, so when I'm back to work I actually get more done despite having taken time out.

4. Embrace natural sweetness

I'm a big fan of cake, but I used to deny those cravings and end up eating more of it! Now, I bake with beautiful, nutrient-rich ingredients like cacao powder, coconut oil and cashew butter, and I don't get ambushed by the sugar-craving monster any more.

5. Hydrate 360

We all know water is great for our skin, but it's even better if we hydrate our skin from all angles. So as well as drinking water, I eat lots of veggies like butternut squash and spinach, which have a high water content. I swear my skin always looks more glowy afterwards!
