Celebrity manicurist Marian Newman has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics to launch Nail Transformations. Think of it as nail art - but for grown-ups.
The collection came after MAC told their resident nail technician Marian to do whatever she wants, she told us: "I had no direction whatsoever.
"They said 'come up with an idea, and tell us'. I didn't want to just do another colour collection, I've done that as well, but this is a concept. I related what I've done for years with nails, and just gave a little more scope so people can make their own colours."
The range features top coats to give a twist to classic nail colours, and consists of Texturize leather topcoat, Highlight sheer blue pearl transformer, Pink Pearl transformer, Green Pearl transformer, Gold Pearl transformer, Shadow sheer blackening topcoat, Skin (light pink beige), Quiet Time (beige nude), and Rebel (mid tone cream plum).
The backstage beauty area during fashion week is not complete without Marian, and she revealed to us that she used them for a few of the Autumn Winter shows but she couldn't say anything. "I was calling them various colours, but I couldn't tell anyone. I have used every single one of them on Brooke Candy."
Interestingly, Marian doesn't buy into trends when it comes to nails, telling us: "I am anti-trends … I don't subscribe to nail trends because you see them on the end of your fingers every day and it's really personal. One of the reasons why I created these is that I suppose the trend in nails is individuality. It's YOU, it's what YOU want to say."
Nail Transformations launch in July for £10 each. Visit when they land on the 4 July 2014.
