GLAMOUR's new Spring bi-annual features three very modern beauty icons and social stars - Patricia Bright, Zoella and Huda Kattan. Here, Patricia opens up on her life and loves...

On seeing her first GLAMOUR cover, Patricia literally can't hide her excitement. It's a change from her regular glam style, but she instantly gives her approval. "I love, love, love the hair, the makeup, the [Isabel Marant] jumper - it's so me." And the "love" feeling is mutual.

Patricia's easy-charm and straight-talking on any subject, including the pressure to achieve perfection, had us all ears on set. It's just one of the reasons she's clocked up 166 million views and two million subscribers on YouTube for her candid beauty and fashion videos.

"I look at the girls with tiny waists, big boobs and perfect bums, and that's lovely. But that's not my reality, because I love cake!", admits the 31-year old mother-of-one.

"My reality might be a bit more squidgy, but I'm still comfortable with who I am and not being perfect. And if I want to change things, that's great, too. Real beauty comes from who you are on the inside and as I've grown into myself, I've realised that beauty genuinely is in the eye of the beholder. There will be people who find you beautiful regardless of society's beauty standards, so find that group. Find the people who love you."

She's also talking out, to hold the industry to account, over the lack of inclusion and recalls her own experience growing up with few black role models. "When I was growing up, there weren't many black celebrities in the UK. So, I looked to American women like Oprah and Tyra Banks. I didn't know much about Naomi Campbell, but now I appreciate how great she is. I've seen her at events and she has this amazing grace. When she walks into the room, everyone looks up."

Patricia also reveals her personal experiences of racism and the beauty projects she's working on to try and progress change. From opening a school for aspiring beauty bloggers, to working with some of the industry's biggest brands.
