This new show will fill the Gossip Girl and PLL shaped hole in your life

Welcome to your new obsession.

If you're on the hunt for a new TV show to obsess over, you're not alone. It's fair to say that aside from Riverdale, the basic b's amongst us (that means, us) are lacking a fictional subject to WhatsApp each other about or to spark conversation in a quiet office.

Long gone are the days where Chuck and Blair would give us reason to actually pick up the phone and call, yes *call* a friend to just jointly shout 'O-M-G'. So we're very happy to be the bearer of great news.

There's a new show in the works that will definitely fill the Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars shaped hole in your life. One look at the trailer and boom, we're hooked!

'You' is being produced by the same creators of Riverdale and features Shay Mitchell (PLL's Emily Fields) and Penn Badgley (GG's Dan Humphries) - but the excitement doesn't stop there.

The series really captures the suspense and 'jumpy-ness' that got us addicted to PLL, while featuring stylish characters, obsessive best friends and lots of sexual tension between the leads, just like (you guessed it) Gossip Girl.

The series will challenge the concept of 'what would you do for love' and as we learn by the trailer, Penn's rather obsessive stalker-like character is willing to do 'anything'. Lifetime describes the premiere series as:

"'What would you do for love?' When a brilliant bookstore manager crosses paths with an aspiring writer, his answer becomes clear: anything. Using the internet and social media as his tools to gather the most intimate of details and get close to her, a charming and awkward crush quickly becomes obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle–and person–in his way."

By 'person in his way' it's very obvious they are talking about Shay Mitchell's protective (and very much in love) friend. Watch the trailer below...

The series will air this fall in America. We have yet to hear from Lifetime for a release date on this side of the pond, but we're keeping our eyes peeled.
