Topshop’s latest designer collection has us excited for party season

We’ll see you in the queue…

21 Aug 2018

Topshop has really spoiled us on the designer collaborations front over the years. Who can forget its cult collections with Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou and, *throwback alert*, Kate Moss? Now the high-street favourite is yet again proving its cutting-edge style credentials by announcing a new collaboration with London Fashion Week’s most-talked-about new star, Halpern.

Central St Martins graduate Michael Halpern has been major fashion news since his sequin-strewn debut at LFW AW17, and has inspired a massive trend for OTT, Studio 54 and disco-inspired glamour. So that’s sequins on minidresses, jumpsuits, bustiers, thigh-high boots and more – basically, the party wardrobe of our dreams.

So, what can we expect from his 28-piece Topshop collab? The label has released a short video teaser on Instagram and described the collection as: “disco-ready party wear across neon velvet separates, printed two pieces, sequin-adorned jumpsuits and iridescent camo print mini dresses”. They had us at neon velvet.

Halpern dresses – as seen on Adwoa Aboah, Lupita Nyong'o and Diane Kruger, to name a few – would usually set you back more than £2,000. So we are beyond excited at the prospect of shopping these crazy-extra pieces with a high-street price tag – starting from just £35.

The much-hyped collection is due to launch online and in selected Topshop stores in early November – just in time to take a starring role in our party-season wardrobes. Although, TBH, if we do manage to get our hands on the goods, we'll be rocking them in the office. We predict an INSTANT sell-out.
