Niall Horan is the only Irish member of boy band One Direction. In 2010, he was evicted from the seventh series of The X Factor at the boot camp stage, but was later re-called with four other rejected singers to create One Direction. They came third and were later signed to Simon Cowell's record label Syco. Their debut single, What Makes You Beautiful, peaked at number one in the UK, and won Best British Single at the 2012 Brit Awards. They went on to take the US by storm, topping the charts and selling out concerts across the country. In March 2012 they made history by becoming the first UK group to debut at No.1 with their first album, Up All Night, in the US Billboard charts. Despite Harry Styles often being labelled as the biggest star of the band, reports claimed Niall is the most popular member of the band in the US.
