Louis Walsh

Born Michael Louis Vincent Walsh in County Mayo, Ireland, Louis
Walsh is music manager best known for being a judge on the UK X
Factor
. However, Walsh first made his name in music when he
created an "Irish version of Take That", the five-piece band became
Boyzone who went onto score 16 hit singles. When front man Ronan
Keating then went solo, Walsh acted as his manager before the pair
turned their attentions to forming boy band Westlife - which Walsh
continues to manage. Walsh made his television debut on the Irish
version of Popstars in 2001, before joining the panel of
Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, which his group Girls Aloud
won. However, it has been his continued position as a judge of the
X Factor, as of 2004, which has made Walsh a household
name. He famously had an altercation with Sharon Osbourne in 2005, when she threw a
glass of water over him. The two have since reunited happily on the
X Factor.
