Tula Paulinea "Tulisa" Contostavlos is a singer best known for being part of R&B trio N-Dubz with her cousin Dino "Dappy" Contostavlos and friend Richard "Fazer" Rawson. She was raised on a council estate in Camden, London, and found strength to deal with various struggles during her childhood and teenage years - she later made a documentary about caring for her mother, who suffers from Schizoaffective disorder - by performing. N-Dubz formed as the Lickle Rinsers Crew when Tulisa was 12 years old, and got their break on pirate radio before being hailed with a Best Newcomer Award at the 2007 MOBO Awards and achieving mainstream success. In spite of her "bad girl" reputation, in May 2011, Tulisa was named as a judge on the UK X Factor following the departure of Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue. However, after a drugs scandal, she left the show after two series and was replaced by Sharon Osbourne in 2013.
