It's been seven years since that iconic kiss, which an estimated two billion people watched around the world (talk about the ultimate PDA). But what is it about Kate Middleton and Prince William that had us all in a frenzy - and still has us hooked today?
Just when we thought they couldn't get any cuter, we've discovered what Prince William's pet name for Kate is - and it's so damn sweet.
According to , William calls his wife 'poppet'. Cute. In return, Kate is alleged to call her husband 'babe'. Goals.
The pair are seemingly more loved than ever. At the Royal Wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, they were spotted holding hands in the pews whilst they waited for the arrival of the bride. The move broke royal protocol, which stipulates they cannot hold hands in public.
After decades of tweed and twinsets, Kate and Will are the 'cool' royals we were waiting for.
Young, glamorous and not afraid to break with tradition, they can rock a red carpet (the 'Kate Effect' is reported to be worth £1 billion to the fashion industry) and hang with Jay-Z and Beyoncé. What's more, they look genuinely in love.
But even the royal lifestyle can take its toll on couples, proven by the Duke and Duchesses brief breakup back in 2007.
It's been reported that the reason for their tiff was far more relatable than we first thought, given that they're among the most powerful people in the country.
The Middleton family reportedly invited William over for New Year's Eve celebrations back in 2006 (I can feel a High School Musical storyline coming on here), but while William originally said yes, he later decided to continue a tradition and spend the holiday with the Queen at her Sandringham Estate.
But of course, not being a member of the royal family yet, Kate wasn't allowed to stay with them, so they spent a lot of time apart over this period, and it also continued through to early 2007.
According to Kate's biography, William left to join a new army regiment in Dorset the day before Kate's birthday, January 9, so the cracks soon began to show and they ended up breaking up in April.
And now, what Kate said about their time apart has been revealed and it's super relatable.
According to Express.co.uk, Kate said: "I think I at the time wasn't very happy about it, but actually it made me a stronger person.
"You find out things about yourself that maybe you hadn't realised. Or I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you are younger.
"I really valued that time for me as well although I didn't think it at the time. Looking back on it".
We can all relate, Kate.
Obviously, they got back together soon after in June (praise the lord or we would have lost all faith in love), and they've since delivered us the perfect royal wedding, and the most adorbs three children.
Interestingly, Kate and Will's fate to end up together may have been written in the stars. You see, when Kate was just 13-years-old, she appeared in a play at her school, St. Andrew's, where she played a character who had her palm read by a 'fortune teller'.
Just as fate would have it, she was told she'd marry a 'handsome man, a rich gentleman' from London - curious! And the kicker is, the character's name was William. Our spidey senses are tingling! Coincidence? Or destiny?
You can see a clip from the play below and then read on to see how the future King and Queen's love story came to be...
